Job Description

The Installation Training, Efficiency & Quality Supervisor will report to the Sr. Manager, Project Engineering and Quality Assurance, supported by the Director of Operations, and is responsible to support material selection standardization, reduction of unnecessary components, efficient installation techniques, quality and overall aesthetics for residential and commercial solar, battery, smart panel and EV charging installations.

Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting material selection standardization, reduction of unnecessary components, efficient installation techniques, quality and overall aesthetics for residential and commercial solar, battery, smart panel and EV charging installations.

Complete all manufacturer training, ongoing updates/webinars and maintain all training certifications from manufacturers for products offered by Swell.

Work with Operations Installation Managers to ensure all partners are current with manufacturer training and certifications as well as updated on code changes and other Swell quality requirements.

Develop and maintain field training documentation via Swell’s online installation partner knowledge base.

Lead quarterly online optional training sessions for all installation partners.

Serve as a technical advisor/expert to both internal and external parties with respect to best practices, efficiency, quality and aesthetics of installations.

Provide optional onsite installation support and training to new installers either virtually or in-person.

Provide remote technical installation and support in the as-built design modification process when necessary.

Complete virtual quality assurance assessments, based on completed job checkout forms, to ensure proper workmanship and compliance with Swell’s design, installation and quality assurance guidelines, current NEC fire and local AHJ codes and requirements.

Create and manage installer notices of corrections resulting from failing quality assurance assessments and follow through with installation partners to help expedite correction requests and minimize future requests through training and process improvement .

Support in the continuous improvement and development of Swell’s design and Installation guidelines.

Support the team by seeking alternatives to non-standard installation adders to preserve and increase margins whenever possible.

Attend installer meetings to learn and document their pain points and offer suggestions for improving overall efficiency and quality.

Work with O&M service department to review post-installation service issues and develop strategies to minimize or eliminate recurring issues through partner training.

Conduct regular monthly meetings with internal stakeholders covering installation performance.

Review customer complaints related to poor installation quality and develop continuous improvement plans for partners and internal stakeholders.

Assist with insurance claims and damage reports as needed

Contribute and support O&M service department to update service handbooks based on feedback from quality assessments.

Requirements

(2+) years of industry experience required

Bachelor’s degree

4 years construction and/or journeyman electrician experience (preferred)

Ability to interpret single line electrical diagrams and construction documents required

Understanding of basic structural and electrical engineering concepts and calculations preferred

Thorough understanding of NEC and electric Codes and applicable fire codes, Rule 21, etc.

Strong written and verbal communication

Good computer skills: MS Office Suite, Salesforce, Google Suite required

Safety minded

Ability to drive a vehicle during the normal course of business. Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check. Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
