Job Description

This is an opportunity to join a growing team to shape the landscape of distributed energy resources. As a member of Swell’s Grid Services Product team you will support the development of innovative Virtual Power Plant (VPP) energy storage solutions in North America. You will work closely with senior product team members to contribute to the product roadmap, for Swell’s Grid Services offerings. Additionally, you will work with the program management team as well as the engineering team to manage delivery of our products executing against the roadmap as well as our contracted programs. This role offers an opportunity to work across multiple aspects of Grid Services products and programs such as API development and partner API integrations; customer experience support from lead capture through fulfillment; further refinement of solar and energy storage distributed energy resource management; as well as onboarding of new energy resource device types. This role will report to the Director of Grid Services Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Swell’s product development process and roadmap
  • Work with multiple internal and external business stakeholders to plan product delivery
  • Manage the product development backlog
  • Document clear and actionable requirements for features and issues
  • Act as a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results

Requirements

  • Advanced degree with specialization in energy or related engineering field
  • 2 years as a Product Owner or technical program manager or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with the Agile development process; work with Agile teams
  • Familiarity with storage and other distributed energy resources
  • Familiarity with utility programs
  • Ability to listen to and understand business needs.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • Good communication (verbal, written and presentation skills). Able to communicate complex technical issues to all stakeholders
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrated attention to detail, excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Comfort with the ambiguity and frequent changes that come with transforming markets.
  • Self-directed, motivated to work remotely, and able to exercise sound judgment independently while handling multiple high priority demands
  • Must be legally Authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation: $125k - $135k Annually
