This role requires a broad range of experience and the selected candidate will work to develop the department's strategic vision for supply chain and distribution services, establish partnerships internally and externally to meet and/or exceed production and revenue goals, drive actions and projects that will reduce project COGS, coordination of working capital for purchasing, implement a new MRP system in coordination with the IT department and other stakeholders. A rapidly evolving business environment and business model demand this candidate be adaptable and have a strong interest in learning and creating new business processes. The Director of Procurement and Supply Chain will oversee a growing team and report directly to our VP and Sr. Director of Operations. Swell is open to discussing flexible remote arrangements for promising candidates.
• Establish and maintain OEM and 3PL logistics procurement management related relationships
• Assist in the development and enhancement of existing procurement processes and procedures to ensure the organization has the proper controls and visibility into business processes and expenditures
• Develop and communicate a supply chain vision, strategic direction, and resource requirements sufficient to deliver required and/or forecast installations
• Create reporting and dashboards that can be utilized by operational teams when making purchasing and planning decisions
• Work closely with the FP&A and Accounting department to ensure proper forecasting and cash flow requirements to meet installation goals
• Ensure high-quality order fulfillment and accountability from original suppliers and logistics partners
• Handle/remedy situations in which suppliers are not meeting expectations
• Help drive down direct and installer purchased equipment costs through ongoing analysis and alternative supply/supplier relationships
• Lead continuous improvement culture throughout the department
• Monitor current category market conditions and identify supply/demand challenges and opportunities
• Supervise a team of supply chain employees, including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination.
