Director of Financial Operations

Job Description

This role is responsible for servicing portfolios of innovative energy storage and generation technologies, and the customer experience for the end users of those assets (primarily utilities, residential and commercial customers). The role will involve a high degree day-to-day relationship and cash transactional activities with our project equity investors, lenders, and other financing partners, including cash disbursement and capital calls, portfolio management and fund reporting for credit facilities and other cash resources used to fund our innovative Energy Service Agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial operations function by setting the vision and strategy for the function, and by hiring, onboarding, and leading the team required for outstanding execution

• Work seamlessly within a cross-functional environment, including with capital markets, channel management, credit, and operations teams

• Provide accurate and timely data and fund-level reporting to our investors, funding partners and senior management

• Manage day-to-day lender relationships, including recurring reporting and transactional activities, and responding one-off requests for information

• Manage all ongoing cash transactions related to financing portfolios of assets, including cash disbursements and payments, capital calls, and tranche funding across various lenders and fund investors

• Manage financial servicing capabilities, including: billing, collections, and customer experience

• Maintain strong governance and internal controls over cash management

• Monitor debt service ratios, covenants, and conditions precedent, and all requirements under fund transaction documents

• Support with hedging strategies and execution of swap contracts

• Ensure asset quality through effective quality control of loans submitted for funding

• Demonstrate ability to drive automation and process efficiency

Requirements

• Demonstrated business expertise across the end-to-end consumer credit lifecycle: origination, fulfillment, servicing, and portfolio management

• BA/BS degree with evidence of quantitative coursework such as finance, economics, engineering, or mathematics

• Ten years of experience in banking, specialty finance, corporate treasury, or financial technology environment

• Expert in MS Excel

• Excellent problem solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable judgment and ability to communicate with senior management team

• Extremely detail oriented, and comfortable multi-tasking within a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• MBA preferred

• Familiarity with the US solar market, including industry participants, economics and trends

• Renewable energy finance experience

• Structured or project finance experience
